Grading
Policy:
* Grades are based on homework, in class work, quizzes and tests.
Homework/ in class work: 25 %
Quizzes: 30%
Tests: 45%
**Take home essays counts as a quiz. It is very important to
complete these essays.
*** There will be a final exam. It will be 20 % of your overall
average.
**** A student is required to successfully complete English 9,
10, 11 and 12 in order to graduate. Students must also pass the 11th
grade English Regents.

Assignment Policy:
(1) Late homework assignments will not be
accepted. A zero will be given for homework assignments not
completed on time.
(2) The day that the student returns from an
absence, the last assignment the student received is due during
class time. It is the student's responsibility to come to me for
the missed assignments. It a student is going to be absent, they
may request the assignments ahead of time, or call and have
assignments forwarded to the high school office for end of day
pick-up. Students who are absent will have the same number of days
absent, to complete the assignments. If an assignment is not made
up by the student, a zero will be given.
