    My name is Laurie Swinwood.  I earned my undergraduate degree at Loyola of Montreal.  At SUNY Potsdam I was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society for educators and graduated cum laude with my Masters degree in children's literature and creative writing.  

    My teaching career has included teaching first, second, third, fifth and sixth grade at EKCS.   I have also taught Freshman Writing at SUNY Canton and  MST Social Studies at SUNY Potsdam.

    As a writer, I have published three literary guides for teachers ( Farmer Boy, Little House in the Big Woods and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) with Teacher Created Materials, Huntingdon Beach, California.  I have also published a children's novel, Rainbows and Other Promises, which deals with Alzheimer's disease and a book of children's poetry, Dinosaurs, Dragons and Dreams. I am a member of  The Society of Children's Book Writers, The Adirondack Writer's Group and North Country Writers. 

    It has been my honor to be inducted into Who's Who in America, Who's Who Among America's Teachers and Who's Who Among American Women.
