I'm Nan Lazovik. I've been teaching art at Edwards-Knox for 20 years. Currently
I am teaching Kindergarten through 6th grade art. In previous years I taught all
levels in art from K-12. Before that, I taught pre-school in the Head
Start Program in Ogdensburg, NY.
Starting in 1992, I began an after-school program" The After Art
Group" for 5th and 6th grades students. It is an enrichment
program that meets once a week to develop creativity, responsibility and
cooperative artistic works. We plan activities that include parent involvement,
visiting artists, projects for the school and community, and field trips.
The Edwards-Knox Art and Music Departments have produced a "Celebration of
the Arts" since 1998. This includes a juried art show, refreshments, and
musical performances in the halls of the school.
I live with my husband Jeff in DeKalb, NY on a 75 acre farm. Since college
I have made pottery and tile pictures in my home studio. Most of my recent work
is by commission. Our daughters Jordan and Emily are both living in New York
State, close enough to see frequently. Jordan and her husband Ted have a son,
Will, and its our first grandson.
