The Edwards-Knox Central School's chapter of the National Honor Society is intended to recognize and promote scholarship, character, leadership and service among the students.

All juniors and seniors who have achieved an 85.0 grade point average after a minimum of four semesters, and who are not already chapter members, are eligible for consideration for membership.  Each fall, the chapter advisor asks all 7-12 faculty members to evaluate eligible candidates.  Five full-time faculty members, selected by the high school principal, act as a faculty council chaired by the faculty advisor who is a non-voting member.  This faculty council reviews the evaluations and determines new members for induction in a ceremony that is held in March.

All active chapter members must maintain the levels of scholarship, character, leadership and service in a rigorous set of guidelines established by chapter members.
