My name is Mr. Monteferante and this page is for you all to get to know me a little better. Originally, I am from downstate New York and grew up about an hour north of New York City. After High School, I attended the United States Military Academy and received my Bachelors in Environmental Geography. Then, I served in the U.S. Army as an active duty Engineer Officer for five years while studying online to earn my Masters in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. Currently, I am in the National Guard continuing my work as an Engineer. During my free time I like to go on hikes, read or just relax and watch television. When I was younger, I loved to play sports, including lacrosse and soccer. I am currently teaching Earth Science and Physics. I enjoy Earth Science because it helps explain why the world looks the way it does. I enjoy teaching physics because there are so many fun experiments you can do in a classroom or at home. I am also teaching Engineering Science in the spring, which will be fun because I like to build things and be creative. Even though I am a science teacher, I do have a passion for history and often read history books during my free time. I came to teach at Edward-Knox because I love the small community feeling that you cannot get in other districts. Despite being terrible at names, I will do my best to learn everyone’s name as fast as possible and I look forward to meeting everyone.
