Immediate Openings
School Resource Officer
Salary: $45,000-$50,000 (based on experience)

Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of an associate’s degree in criminal justice or closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a law enforcement officer, security guard, or military; OR
- Graduation from high school, possession of a High School equivalency diploma OR possession of an Individual Education Plan diploma and seven (7) years of experience as a law enforcement officer, security guard, or military; OR
- An equivalent combination of experience and training as defined by the limits of “A” and “B” above.
Special Requirements
- Citizen of the United States.
- Possession of a current valid New York State Driver’s license.
- SRO may not carry or possess firearms while on duty unless authorized to do so by the Appointing Authority and a license has been issued pursuant to Section 400.00 of Penal Law. Where possession of the license is required, eligibility for and continued possession of the license is required for employment. The School is responsible to see that all training, licensing and registration requirements are met with the NYS Department of State and DCJS.
- Appointees must meet the requirements of the Security Guard Act of 1992. The school is responsible to ensure registration with the New York Department of State.
- In accordance with the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) legislation, Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, any by the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, candidates for appointment in school districts must obtain clearance for employment from the State Education Department prior to employment based upon a fingerprint and criminal history background check.
Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm. You must pay the required evaluation fee.
Additional Employment Information
The effective date of hire for this position would be January 1, 2026. The successful applicant will need to take a civil service examination and score within the top three interested candidates in order to be permanently appointed.

Custodial Worker
Salary: $51,231
The hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
