    Dear E-K School Community,

We received notice of a confirmed positive case of a staff member.  We are working closely with the staff member and the St. Lawrence County Department of Health to identify this individual’s contacts at the school. Fortunately, there are very few.  Those that have been in direct contact with the positive individual were contacted today and the St. Lawrence County Department of Health will reach out to the contacts and advise on the need to quarantine.

Please, proactively monitor symptoms and keep your children home from school if they are ill. You may seek COVID-19 testing for you or your child if you have concerns.  There are testing sites available throughout the county. Contact information is included below:

    Dear E-K School Community,

Regrettably today, October 13, 2021, we’ve been informed that we have a student who has tested positive for COVID-19.  We are continuing to collaborate with the St. Lawrence County Department of Health to identify the contacts of the positive student at the school. We were able to isolate the case and have identified a minimal number of students exposed as a result. Those that have been in direct contact with the positive student are being contacted by a school administrator or our school nurse. The St. Lawrence County Department of Health will reach out to all contacts and advise on the need to quarantine and to arrange testing of those exposed.

Please take note that school will resume as normal.

Students who have been directed to self-quarantine will be assigned a tutor until their quarantine has ended and they are cleared to return to school for in-person instruction.

I urge you to continue to monitor symptoms and keep your children home from school if they are not feeling well.  As always, please seek COVID-19 testing proactively for you or your child if you have concerns, there are testing sites available throughout the county.

Posted by Brandi Graham on 9/27/2021

Parents and Guardians: Please note that rapid antigen tests and home tests can NOT be accepted to return a symptomatic student to school. Only PCR/send out tests can be accepted due to the high positivity rate in our County.

  • P-EBT Cards

Posted by Brandi Graham on 9/9/2021
The New York State P-EBT card provided by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance that was issued last year for families enrolled during the 2019-20 school year for food benefits is in the process of having funds re-added to it. New York State pulled the attendance of each student and is pro-rating amounts added to the cards based on the child’s enrollment status during the school year.

Again, this program is run directly by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and not through the Edwards-Knox School District.

Please refer any questions or requests for a new card to the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance at 1-888-328-6399. If a replacement card is needed, please contact the number above. You can also follow this link for more information:

  • Return to School

Posted by Brandi Graham on 9/1/2021

    September 1, 2021

Dear Edwards-Knox Central School District Families:

As we near the first day of school on Tuesday, September 7th, we would like to inform you of our latest set of protocols regarding COVID-19. Please keep in mind that requirements and protocols will change, as needed, according to CDC and SLC DOH guidelines.

For the 2021-22 school year, we will be embracing a needed sense of normalcy with full in-person instruction, while continuing to implement layered protection strategies to ensure the safety of our students and staff. The health and safety of our students, staff and their families is our top priority and we remain committed to doing our part to minimize the potential health and safety impact of COVID-19.

At this time, we do not intend to conduct daily health screenings.  Additionally, the following safety measures will be followed:

    • Full masking indoors; teachers may allow for mask breaks as needed
    • Social distancing of 3 ft. in classrooms
    • Social distancing of 6 ft. in both cafeteria’s

We ask that you do not send your child to school if he/she is displaying any symptoms of COVID, regardless of vaccination.   It is also important to note that those who have been vaccinated will not be required to quarantine if exposed to a positive case, assuming they are asymptomatic.  However, it is recommended that those exposed to a positive case be tested 3-5 days following the exposure, regardless of symptoms.

If your child is required to quarantine, teachers will provide work and a tutor will contact you to provide instruction/academic support.

We thank you for your cooperation during the ongoing challenges the pandemic has on our lives.  We are thrilled to be inviting all students back on a full time basis, and are hopeful we are able to maintain full attendance indefinitely.  Please also note that only in-person instruction will be offered this year; at this time, remote learning is not an option.

We are excited about welcoming our students back this school year! Please reach out to us if you have any questions in the meantime at (315) 562-8130.

    Best Regards,

    Erin E. Woods

  • 1:1 Device Survey

Posted by Brandi Graham on 8/9/2021

    Dear E-K Families,

The Edwards-Knox Central School District is seeking your input! As part of our funding application for 1:1 devices (Chromebooks) for our school and students, we are required to poll families as to the availability of personal electronic devices you may or may not have at home. The questions in the following survey will ask if you have personal electronic devices such as a desktop, laptop or Chromebook that could be used if your student had to work from home.

*Cell phones do not count for this survey.

*Note: Edwards-Knox CSD plans to continue to provide an electronic device (Chromebook) to each student.

*Our funding application also requires us to ask about the availability of reliable internet service in your home. The word "reliable" means you are able to stream video consistently to multiple devices at the same time.

Please complete the following by Friday, 8/13/21. Survey

*If you have difficulty completing the form, please email: kguyette@ekcsk12.org
