The skateboards and safety equipment were received from the Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Project, which is funded by the New York State Department of Health.

A newly-awarded grant is providing seventh and eighth grade Edwards-Knox students a creative way to become active during school hours.

Mrs. Wheats’ seventh and eighth grade students have been enjoying learning how to skateboard during class.

The Edwards-Knox Wellness Committee helped secure a grant through the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Project.

The grant gave the district 25 skateboards and helmets, along with elbow, knee and wrist guards, allowing students to gear up and get active.
