Edwards-Knox voters approve $19.4 million budget, elect three board members

On May 19, Edwards-Knox Central School District voters approved the district’s $19.4 million 2026-27 budget proposal, elected three board of education members, and approved the purchase and finance of three diesel school buses. The budget proposition passed 94 to 58.

District-related propositions

  • A $19,398,442 budget for the 2026-27 school year that increases spending 3.94% ($735,089) and carries a tax levy increase of 3.22%: 94 yes to 58 no
  • Purchasing and financing of three new diesel school buses at a total cost not to exceed $570,000: 121 yes to 28 no

Board of Education election

Three candidates sought election to three open board of education seats.

The term will last five years, beginning July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2031:

  • Dustin Lottie (incumbent): 112 votes
  • Craig Kirkpatrick (incumbent): 102 votes
  • Penny Allen (incumbent): 111 votes
