Edwards-Knox Elementary is excited to welcome incoming kindergarten students to its annual Registration and Screening event, happening on Wednesday, May 13.
Families are asked to use the Visitor Parking in the front side parking lot and enter the building through the main entrance. Further directions will be given at that time. Parents/guardians are asked to bring the following items to the screening:
- Completed Registration Packet
- Parent/guardian photo I.D.
- Proof of residency within the Edwards-Knox School District
- Child’s birth certificate
- Child’s immunization records
As a reminder, a child must be five years old on or before December 1 of the year they are to enter school. Upon arrival, each child will be screened by the nurse, school psychologist, speech therapist, physical education teacher, and a kindergarten teacher. This process helps to identify any possible learning difficulties that may have an effect on your child’s adjustment to school. Parents will wait in the waiting area while their child is screened.
For more information, including all necessary paperwork you’ll need to bring to the screening, please access the Kindergarten Screening Handbook through this link.
