•  Basic supplies needed for 4th Grade:
        - 1 3-ring binder ( 1 and 1/2 inches with inside pockets)
        -  At least 5 folders to keep each of their core class papers in and one will be their homework folder.
        -  Two packages of #2 pencils
       - Colored pencils  
       -  A package of glue sticks
       -  Pair of scissors
       - Extra erasers
       - Package of lined paper 
        **Please do not send trapper keepers because they take up to much space in the students desk. These are the basic materials needed to start the year!

    Writing

    Unit 1 is our Narrative Writing Unit. We will be working on this unit until the end of October. We will be working on writing Realistic Fiction pieces. Some goals include:

    • Students will pay attention to the moments and issues in their own lives, collecting them in their Writer’s Notebooks
    • Students will develop ideas about their character’s traits; both internal, and external, to make them as realistic as possible
    • Students will write about their character’s motivations, and obstacles
    • Students will attend to text structures, sentences, phrasing, words, and choice in arrangement of style
    • Students will edit their work, and will work to become strong independent writers
