Meet Miss McCormick
I was raised Gouverneur, NY, and currently live in Edwards, NY. I graduated from Gouverneur Central High School in 2012, and received my Bachelors of Science of Psychology in May of 2015 from Clarkson University. I originally planned on becoming a Physical Therapist, and was accepted into Clarkson's Doctorate of Physical Therapy program, but I had a change of heart my senior year. Two weeks after graduating from Clarkson, I started working on my Masters of Science of Teaching for grades 1-6 at SUNY Potsdam. While I was enrolled in this program, I completed both of my student teaching placements at Edwards-Knox. I received my Masters of Science of Teaching for grades 1-6 in May of 2016 and I received my certification in August of the same year. I was a first grade teacher at Edwards-Knox for the 2016-2017 school year, and taught my first year at the fourth grade level last year! I have really enjoyed working with the staff and students here at Edwards-Knox!
During my last two years at Clarkson, I was a member of their Cross Country Team. Although I wasn't the greatest runner, I qualified to compete in the NYS Division III Regional Competition both of the years that I was on the team. I still run just about every day. It is definitely my favorite hobby! I also have a mom, a dad, and a dog named Copper. I also have a younger sister, who is an Adapted Physical Education Teacher for the Odgensburg Boces Program. Her and I currently live together with our two new puppies, Lucy and Chloe! We spend most of our summers together on our pontoon boat at our camp on Lake Bonaparte in Harrisville, NY. I enjoy swimming and hanging out in the sun!
