Averages will be based on homework, quiz, and test grades as follows -
- Homework Grade – Homework will be assigned on a regular basis. (30%)
- Check Grade - Most assignments will receive a check grade worth a possible 25 points (√+ = 25 points, √ = 20 points, √- = 15 points). For these assignments a homework grade will be calculated every four assignments.
- Letter Grade - Some assignments will be given a letter grade (A, B, C…) which will then translate to a numerical grade.
- Numerical Grade - Other assignments will simply be given a numerical grade.
- Late homework assignments will be accepted up to the day following the due date but may receive up to a 25% reduction.
- Quizzes will receive a numerical grade. Quizzes may be announced or unannounced. (30%)
- Tests and projects (40%)
- There will be a written final exam and there may be a mid-term exam.
Making up work - If you are absent from school, you will have the number of days you were absent to make up the work missed up to one week. For example, if you were absent for three days, when you come back you will have three days to make up missed homework, classroom assignments, quizzes, and tests. If you are absent I will place your work on the bulletin board. You are responsible for getting the work and completing it. That being said, assignments are posted on my website and will be handed out on the first day of the week, so it is possible to complete most assignments when you are out.
